Hi guys!

This month has been fun. I’ve published my first short story with Amazon, finished my first draft of next year’s novel, moved to a rental house, bought another house (meaning we need to move again in 3 months yuck!), traveled to Yarrawonga for a literary lunch, and next week I’m going to QLD for the school holidays. No rest for the wicked!

Still, I have managed to find time to read (obviously) and watch a lot of TV and try out a new hair product because PRIORITIES.

Here is what I’ve been loving in September:

I’m Glad My Mum Died by Jennette McCurdy

This was a memoir about a child actor and her dysfunctional relationship with her narcissistic mother. It was SO GOOD. And so bad, if you know what I mean. I had to keep reminding myself it wasn’t fiction. Get it in your eyeballs. (Or earholes). Order here.

My buddy Kylie Ladd has written this FANTASTIC new novel, coming out in 2023! I was lucky enough to read an advance copy and it was a page-turner from first to last. You’ll absolutely love it and you’ll be hearing lots more about it. Pre-order here.

The Split (Stan)

This one was a recommendation from you guys and I BINGED 3 SEASONS IN ONE WEEK. I thought it was like a British version of Offspring. Christian loved it too. If you haven’t watched it yet, drop everything.

Hannah and Nathan are divorce lawyers working amicably on their own divorce, until shit hits the fan and secrets are revealed (obviously).

Hacks (Stan)

So funny and clever, I binged the whole thing basically in one go! (Okay there’s a theme here.)

Deborah Vance is a legendary comedian with a long track record and a Vegas residency doing seven shows a week, when she realises her career is dwindling and the casino is trying to wind her back. Meanwhile, Ava is a young comedy writer who accidentally canceled herself on social media when a tweet went wrong. They share a manager, who pairs them together to save both their careers, forming an unlikely mentorship along the way.

Derry Girls (Netflix)

My gawd this is an excellent show, so so funny with the third (and final) season dropping in Australia soon. True belly laughs.

Derry Girls is an Irish teen sitcom following a group of girls in their final years at a Catholic girls’ high school in the 1990s in Northern Ireland during the ‘Troubled Times’. The cast of characters is stellar.

I know I’m not one to comment on hair, since I have approximately 3 strands at the moment, however, I used a new product and it was UNBELIEVABLE. It’s called Wonder Water by L’Oreal. It’s not new, I must have been living under a rock because apparently people are going wild for it on TikTok but guys, trust me, you have to try it. You put it on after shampooing, and before conditioner. It feels weird, like rubbing water on your head. After you rinse you will have the softest, silkiest hair in the WHOLE FREAKING WORLD. I insisted on using it on both my daughter’s hair too, and if you’re looking for a couple of hair models, you know where to come. Okay?
