Hi guys,

I cannot BELIEVE it’s just a few weeks until I’m in the US touring and meeting American readers in nine cities! I am so bloody excited. Have I started packing? Absolutely not. But have I been thinking about what to pack? Also no. I’ve been too busy moving house and buying things for my soon to be WRITER’S CABIN. 

Speaking of writing, I’ve also been living my best life in Adelaide for Writer’s Week. I made it a girls’ trip and took my pal Jane Cockram with me (read her amazing books here), had dinner with my buddy Jane Harper (you’ve probably read them all, but if not, here), I terrified Holly Ringland at breakfast one morning when I sidled up to introduce myself - who knew I was stealth? (Read her books here, they’re amazing.) And I hugged it out with Caroline Overington when I bumped into her on festival grounds (I’m a long time fan - check out her books here). Then my SA-based girl cousins came to Craig Silvey’s session with me and we squealed like it was a Harry Styles concert. Also got to meet Craig. (Can confirm he is even nicer in person than he seems online.)

And just in case you have any room left on your kindle … onto my recommendations! This month I’m talking about books, sheets, fashion and the best TV series I’ve seen in ages.

Lately I have been buying so many things from Shieke. I like to buy from small businesses where possible but occasionally I’ll go to a high street shop. Sheike have lots of fun, high fashion pieces and turn over stock quickly so you won’t see everyone wearing your shirt! Check them out. (Not to be confused with Shein, which is utter crap, never buy from there.)

Bad Sisters on Apple TV

Oh. My. God. Have you watched this? Have you? If you haven’t, go and watch it right this second. It is so freaking good. Funny. Dark. The characters are IRISH. What more could you want? It’s about 4 sisters who want to kill the fifth sister’s husband (known unaffectionately as “the prick”). At the beginning of the first episode, the prick is dead and we don’t know what happened or who did it. Then we go back and forth in time as we put the pieces together. It’s the show I wish I’d written.

I bit the bullet and bought Bed Threads linen a while back. I wanted to trial it before I recommended because listen, it’s expensive. Eye wateringly expensive. My great Aunty Gwen definitely rolled in her grave because you can get perfectly good sheets from Best & Less (on sale). BUT since I am middle-aged and no longer spend money on socialising I’ve begun the slow process of moving to a bougie bed situation- the mattress the pillows and finally, the sheets. Guys, they are FLAX FRENCH LINEN. Do I know that this means? No. Am I obsessed with them, yes. If you are also middle-aged and interested in forfeiting other luxuries in your life, these sheets might be for you.

I’ll be going on tour to the US again in April 2023 and I’m so excited to meet readers! My book is out on 4 April and events are starting to be listed on my website, so keep an eye out xx
