 What a month it has been. I was in the Daily Mail for wig-wearing, I’ve been to Gwinganna where I became an insufferable tea-swilling, gluten free, dairy free yoga addict (don’t worry, I’m over all that); I went to Sovereign Hill with the family, I gave advice on how to divvy up household duties in my newsletter, I discovered TikTok where I documented A Day in the Life of an author - jeez I’m getting tired just writing this!

The Couple Upstairs by Holly Wainwright

I started a great call out for book recommendations HERE on Instagram, but if you want one that is a hands down slam-dunk from me, it is The Couple Upstairs by Holly Wainwright. This book has everything - a breathless plot, intriguing characters and a dilemma that keeps you thinking long after the final page. Pre-order this one now, you’ll be glad you did. Barney and Jacq

I’m obsessed with this label. You’ve probably seen me wearing these lounge pants on repeat. I’ve just ordered them in zest. I’ve also been wearing the Camilla Wool Coat on repeat. Sadly it’s now sold out, but follow Barney & Jaq for restocks and new ranges.

Call me Moira, because I now have a suite of wigs and hairpieces. If you’re wondering why, you can read my reasons here, but the fact is, alternative hair is a growing trend for people for all sorts of reasons. Whether you have trich, alopecia, thinning hair or simply want the ease of not having to blow dry and colour your hair (where were these during lockdown?) you may find that alternative hair is a solution for you. I’ve posted about my hair helpers on IG but because y’all keep asking me about this, here are my favourites:

Custom made wig by LC wigs

This gal is the Rolls Royce of wigs. Made with unprocessed, ethically sourced hair, it was fit to my head and my requirements. I simply gave wig-master Liron a photo of my dream hair and she made it. How cool is that? In honour of Liron, her name is Liron.

Hidden Crown Topper

I got the colour 882 and had my hairdresser cut it to my length. Then I cut bangs myself. I think I got away with it, but I don’t recommend it because IT COULD GO BADLY WRONG. I love this guy so much because it sits on top of my normal hair and is easy to throw into a ponytail. I called this one Murray, after Murray Wiggle.

Unfiltered by Raquel Welch in colour ‘shaded biscuit’

This is a synthetic, lace front wig, which is super easy to throw on and go. Her name is Wiggy, and I’m a fan.

Minimuds

So it turns out Clementine doesn’t like getting her clothes dirty. I didn’t raise her this way, leave me alone. Anyway, it’s been a real pest, because whenever it’s wet, she won’t bloody go outside. Enter Minimuds. These wet weather clothes have revolutionised our winter, and now we are jumping in puddles every day. At least she is. With Christian. I’m inside with a book, because I don’t like to get my shoes dirty.

Saving the best for last here - my now famous assistant Amy has a podcast with her partner Laura (they run Secret Book Stuff) and it is a must listen for you bookworms out there. By the way, she also owns a bookstore and has a book club and is basically your one-stop shop for all things books. She’s even written one!
